FONTAINE EXPANDS ITS BUSINESS TO INCLUDE ALUMINUM TRAILERS
HALEYVILLE, ALABAMA — (Trailer Technician) – Fontaine Trailer, the largest manufacturer of steel flatbed trailers in North America is expanding its business to include all- aluminum trailers. With the acquisition of Ravens in 2001, Fontaine acquired the expertise and capability to produce high-end all-aluminum flatbed trailers. Now Fontaine is leveraging this expertise by offering the most complete line of flatbed trailers in the industry.
“This is a customer driven decision,” stated Glenn Chambers, President of Fontaine Trailer. “Fontaine is focused on serving flatbed trailer customers, and flatbed trailer customers demand steel, composite and aluminum trailers. Now Fontaine is perfectly positioned to be the premier supplier in all three of these important market segments,” Chambers concluded.
With this business expansion, flatbed trailers previously manufactured under the Ravens brand will now go to market under the Fontaine brand. Aluminum flatbed trailers will continue to be manufactured at the Fontaine plant in Kent, Ohio. Steel and composite flatbed trailers will continue to be manufactured at the Fontaine plant in Haleyville, Alabama. All other Ravens products will be dropped from the line. This will allow Fontaine to focus its resources completely on the platform trailer market. Combining these businesses under a single brand will give Fontaine customers access to the most powerful engineering resources in the industry.
