1884
August Timpte forms August Timpte Wagon and Carriage Works
William Timpte forms Wm. Timpte Carriage Works
1891
August and William Timpte merge their two shops into one company, the Timpte Brothers Wagon Company. The company designed and manufactured buggies, carriages, light spring wagons for mining, commerce and local delivery, and heavy brewery wagons.
1916
August and William Timpte retire.
Sons T.C. “Tony” Timpte and C.A. “Clem” Timpte take over the company.
1920s
The company focuses on manufacturing bodies for the early motor chassis.
1931
Timpte’s first semi-trailer was produced and was set on a chassis furnished by Fruehauf.
1938
The company begins producing trailer chassis.
1940s
During WWII, the vast majority of the company’s production was dedicated to supporting the war effort.
Tony Timpte bought out his cousin Clem and the company was incorporated as Timpte, Inc.
Product line narrowed to trailers, truck bodies, and sleeper cabs.
1953
The first level floor grain trailer was produced.
1960
Tony Timpte sells company to Ohio Brass Company.
1961
After devoting almost 50 years of his life to Timpte and the transportation industry of America, Tony Timpte died in May of 1961
1963
Grain hopper trailer developed.
1966
The Timpte division of Ohio Brass is purchased by a group of employees and friends led by Timpte officers, Bob Ruland, Jim Lakin, Ray Bissell, and Tom Gamel.
1970
Timpte Industries, Inc., a holding company, was formed.
1973
Timpte Industries purchases Beall Equipment of Colorado and forms Timpte-Beall, Inc.
1980
Timpte opened a new manufacturing facility in David City, Nebraska devoted entirely to manufacturing grain trailers.
1983
Timpte-Beall is sold.
1986
Company opens a modern 170,000 square foot refrigerated trailer manufacturing plant in Wayne, Nebraska.
1988
Company sells refrigerated trailer business and the Wayne plant to Great Dane Trailers. Efforts are concentrated on the production of aluminum grain trailers.
2009
Timpte celebrates 125th Anniversary.
