BENDIX CELEBRATES MAINTENANCE PROFESSIONALS DURING NATIONAL TECHNICIAN APPRECIATION WEEK

Saluting and Supporting the Critical Service Pros Who Help Keep America’s Trucks and Truckers Moving

AVON, Ohio – (Trailer Technician) – Try to imagine a trucking industry without the dedicated, exceptionally skilled professionals who work tirelessly to ensure our nation’s commercial vehicles are in safe condition and always at the ready for service.

This National Technician Appreciation Week, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC (Bendix) celebrates and thanks the maintenance professionals whose around-the-clock efforts are vital to the trucking industry and the nation’s economy.

Sponsored by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) and ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC), the fifth annual National Technician Appreciation Week takes place Sept. 22-28. The week directly follows this year’s ATA TMC fall meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina, and its TMCSuperTech National Technician Skills Competitions for professional commercial vehicle technicians. National Technician Appreciation Week celebrates the hard work and commitment of professional technicians, while also helping to attract prospective talent to one of the most in-demand careers in the trucking industry.

“Commercial vehicles of every type are kept rolling by dedicated professionals whose skills help enhance the safety of their fleet, the drivers, and the roads we all share,” said Nicole Oreskovic, vice president of sales and marketing at Bendix. “It’s a growing opportunity in a vital field, as the role of the professional technician has become more complex, more diverse, and more challenging thanks to the exponential leap in technologies present on today’s commercial vehicles. Without trucks, America stops – and without technicians, trucks stop. We’re incredibly grateful for all they do.”

Bendix – the North American leader in the development and manufacture of active safety, air management, and braking system technologies for commercial vehicles – is a returning sponsor of this year’s TMCSuperTech competition and its brake station. Brian Screeton, manager – technical training and service at Bendix, cochaired the brake station, and Bendix team members judged the efforts of the nearly 90 technicians who completed a written exam and hands-on challenge during the competition.
