Blink Codes
Semi-trailer blink codes, often associated with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), are diagnostic codes that indicate specific issues within the ABS system. These codes are displayed through a series of blinks on the ABS warning light, which can be read and interpreted to diagnose problems
Identifying ABS Issues
- ABS Control Unit (ECU): The ECU detects any electrical faults in the trailer’s ABS system and stores the corresponding fault codes.
- Blink Codes: When a fault occurs, the ABS warning light on the trailer will blink in a specific pattern. Each pattern corresponds to a different fault code.
- Reading the Codes: To read the blink codes, you typically need to power the ABS system in a specific sequence. The number of blinks will indicate the fault code, which can then be referenced against a diagnostic chart to identify the issue.
