Air Tank
An Air Tank is a component used on a semi-trailer (or converter dolly) to store compressed air. This air is used to operate the air brake system. The compressed air is generated via a tractor’s air compressor and supplied to the trailer (or converter dolly) via the Emergency Air Line (red).
Also known as an Air Reservoir.
Maintenance
It is important to drain air tanks regularly to remove any accumulated moisture which can have a negative impact on brake performance.
