Accuride Announces Return of USA-Made Gunite 3922X Brake Drum
Livonia, MI – (Trailer Technician) – Accuride Corporation – a leading supplier of components to the global commercial vehicle industry – announced Accuride’s Gunite-branded 3922X cast iron brake drum will now be produced in Accuride’s Rockford, IL Gunite foundry.
Based on customer demand for a competitive domestically made brake drum, Gunite foundry has updated their tooling to produce the drum for the North American market. The drum, with part number 3922XUSA, is a 105 lb. cast-iron drum with an optimized design for aftermarket applications.
“Customers have been asking us for an American made version of the 3922X for a few years, and we feel that the time was right to bring it back to Rockford,” says Jayne Orr, Accuride’s Senior Vice President for North American Sales.
